DCM-1 Limited Warranty

One year parts, extended for the life of the device by your active annual PianoCloud Monitor subscription.

PianoCloud Corporation ("PianoCloud," "we," "our," or "us") provides this Limited Warranty to the original retail purchaser of a PianoCloud DCM-1 Monitor ("Device"). This Limited Warranty is not transferable and applies only to Devices purchased from PianoCloud or an authorized PianoCloud distributor.

1. What Is Covered

PianoCloud warrants the DCM-1 Monitor against defects in materials and workmanship, under normal use, for a period of one (1) year from the date of original retail purchase.

Parts-only warranty. Coverage is limited to replacement parts or a replacement unit, at PianoCloud's option. Labor to remove or install the Device is not covered.

2. Extended by Active Subscription

The one-year Limited Warranty is extended for as long as the original purchaser maintains an active annual PianoCloud Monitor subscription associated with the Device.

3. Registration

Warranty registration is automatic when the customer activates a PianoCloud Monitor subscription on the Device through the PianoCloud Monitor app. No paperwork is required.

4. Removal, Installation, and Shipping

The customer, or the customer's certified installer, is responsible for:

Shipping. The customer pays one-way shipping to PianoCloud's designated service address. PianoCloud pays return shipping of the repaired or replaced unit.

6. How to Make a Warranty Claim

Requesting a Return Authorization

To request warranty service, email support@pianocloud.ai with:

  • Your Device serial number (found on the spec label on the back of the Device, or in the PianoCloud Monitor app under Device Details)
  • The email address associated with your PianoCloud subscription
  • A one-sentence description of the issue
  • The date of original purchase (if available)

PianoCloud will issue a Return Authorization (RA) number and shipping instructions, including the designated service address. Do not ship a Device to PianoCloud without a valid RA number.

7. Warranty Service Process

  1. Diagnosis. Upon receipt, PianoCloud will diagnose the returned Device.
  2. Repair or replace. If a covered defect is confirmed, PianoCloud will, at its option, repair the Device with new or refurbished parts or replace it with a new or refurbished unit of equal or greater functionality.
  3. Return. The repaired or replaced Device will be shipped back to the customer at PianoCloud's expense.
  4. Not covered. If the returned Device is found to be outside the scope of this Limited Warranty, PianoCloud will contact the customer with a repair estimate or return the Device unrepaired at the customer's expense.

8. PLS System Warranty — Separate from This Warranty

This Limited Warranty covers the PianoCloud DCM-1 Monitor only. It does not cover the customer's Piano Life Saver® humidity-control system or the H-5 Humidistat, both of which are third-party products manufactured by Dampp-Chaser Electronics Corporation.

The DCM-1 is an in-line device: the customer's H-5 humidistat and its LED indicator panel each plug into the DCM-1, and no modification is made to either. Any warranty questions specific to the Piano Life Saver® system should be directed to Dampp-Chaser Electronics Corporation.

9. Limitations

Not a safety device. The DCM-1 is a status-reporting device. It is not a safety-critical, life-safety, or property-protection device. PianoCloud is not responsible for damage to pianos, adjacent property, or any other consequential loss arising from failure of the Device, failure of the notification service, missed alerts, false alerts, or interruption of the PianoCloud Monitor service. See the Terms of Service for the full limitation-of-liability language.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PianoCloud's total liability under this Limited Warranty is limited to the original retail purchase price of the Device.

Some states or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply. This Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights; you may also have other rights that vary by state or jurisdiction.

10. Governing Law

This Limited Warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
