Complete guide to setting up and using your DCM-1 Piano Climate Monitor with the PianoCloud iOS app.

Getting Started

What's in the Box

Initial Setup

  1. Download the PianoCloud app from the iOS App Store on your iPhone (requires iOS 15 or later)
  2. Create an account using your email address
  3. Connect the DCM-1 to power using the included USB-C cable and adapter
  4. Wait for the device to boot (approximately 30 seconds). The Power LED will turn solid green when ready
  5. Connect sensor pads to the designated port on the DCM-1
Note: The DCM-1 must be connected to your WiFi network to function. During first boot, the device will create a temporary WiFi network (SSID: DCM-1-SETUP-XXXXX) for configuration.

Adding Your First Device

Method 1: QR Code Scan (Recommended)

  1. Open the PianoCloud app and tap the "+" button in the Devices tab
  2. Tap "Scan QR Code"
  3. Point your iPhone camera at the QR code on the back of your DCM-1 device
  4. The device will be automatically added to your account

Method 2: Manual Entry

  1. Tap the "+" button and select "Enter Manually"
  2. Enter the Device ID found on the label (format: DCM-1-XXXXXXXXXXXX)
  3. Give your device a friendly name (e.g., "Living Room Piano")
  4. Tap "Add Device"

Understanding LED Indicators

LED Normal State Fault State Meaning
POWER Solid Green Flashing Red (2.4 Hz) Monitors main power supply. Red flash indicates power loss or low voltage.
WATER Off Flashing Yellow (2.4 Hz) Water detection sensor. Yellow flash indicates water/moisture detected on sensor pads.
PADS Off Flashing Red (2.4 Hz) Sensor pad integrity check. Red flash indicates disconnected or faulty sensor pads.
Warning: If you see a flashing Water LED, immediately check your piano and the surrounding area for moisture. Remove the DCM-1 from power if water is present and contact support.

Managing Notifications

Enabling Push Notifications

  1. Open iPhone Settings → Notifications → PianoCloud
  2. Enable "Allow Notifications"
  3. Enable "Critical Alerts" for fault notifications (bypasses Do Not Disturb)
  4. Choose your preferred alert style (Banner or Alert)
